Experience
As a freelance musician, Gordon has been engaging audiences in North and South Carolina since 1998 when he returned to the area after earning a music degree at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati. Gordon currently serves as second trumpet for the Union Symphony. Gordon is founder and leader of his brass quintet, Stained Brass. He was Principal Trumpet of the Western-Piedmont Symphony in Hickory, NC from 1999-2005. With that ensemble he has performed as soloist. He has also performed with Charlotte, Charleston, and Greenville Symphonies. In 2005 he was engage as a soloist with Wingate University’s Symphonic Band. He is well acquainted with playing musicals, and has extensive experience performing at weddings, church services, funerals, church cantatas, benefits, and nursing homes. He is often heard on recital as a soloist or within the brass quintet. He was called “Trumpeter“at the Carolina Renaissance Festival from 1998-2002 and “Bugler” at Turfway Race Track in Florence, Kentucky from 1994-1996. Yes, he has even performed on the center of an ice skating rink.
