1934 Buescher, Aristocrat, True-Tone, Trumpet

This is a 1934 Buescher, Aristocrat, True Tone Trumpet. It has been in my family for three generations. My grandfather played this in dance bands. My father played it in High School. I learned on it and have performed on it from time to time in my professional career.
Ready to play! It is completely functional. There is wear as you see pictured. The trumpet is very resistant to dents as it is very thick metal. The bell is small measuring 4 3/8”. The bore is quite small. My best guess is 0.445. The valves are nickel. As nickel does not corrode they look and work great. The valves have springs on the bottom instead of in the valve tops. The valves are short throw, meaning you don’t have to press them down very far to completely depress them. That is a joy!
The valve caps are topped with mother of pearl they are pictured. The third one has edges that have cracked off. All are pictured clearly.
This trumpet has a high/low tuning. Essentially this horn was designed to be an instrument in Bb and has a normal tuning slide at the end to tune. You can quickly change to trumpet in A by completely extending a second tuning slide. To play better in tune in the new key each valve slide gets extended to the manufacturer’s score marks. I have pictured the horn in high and low tuning. You will note the extended slide in the A tuning.
I had the leadpipe replaced because it was damaged. Also, I have the second valve slide patched as it had worn through. The threads that hold in the low tunin slide are partially broken. My father and I were always careful with this and it has never caused us any problems. The second valve guide is partially missing, but it still keeps the valve in place. Both problems have existed for the past 40 years with no change.
The tone is sweet and compact. It makes a good combo horn. It is nice to play it with a small choir.
I am selling this horn without a case or a mouthpiece.
